About
The Peter J. Barrett Sailing Alliance unites the resources of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW) and the Delavan Lake Sailing School (DLSS) to encourage participation and excellence in sailing and sailboat racing by disabled and able-bodied students. Student are introduced to the sport of sailing, trained in sailing skills, and encouraged to develop life-enhancing proficiencies. Programs of the Alliance range from learn-to-sail introductory courses to competitive sailing to training of instructors for adaptive sailing programs in Wisconsin and other areas. Students with disabilities and those who are able-bodied are encouraged to become more active in sailing; to take advantage of the facilities, equipment, and support of UWW and DLSS; and through sailing develop lifelong skills and confidence.

Tragedy changes your life, how you react to it determines your quality of life.
