My Story
Hello my name is Les, I live in Costa Rica. I study computer engineering and I am 24 years old. I do not know where to start... My diagnosis is incomplete paraplegia so I have to walk with crutches. This originated because I had cysts in the spine. My first operation was at the age of 17, and I have used crutches ever since then. It was not easy, I went through a roller coaster. One day I was in the depths of a chasm and the next day I felt a little better. I was very embarrassed because I thought people felt sorry for me. I was so sad and upset because I wanted to recover my self-esteem which had disappeared. Until a couple of years ago I realized that this does not define who I am. I have learned to ignore the uncomfortable looks and hurt. Now I live with another heart. I will not deny that there are still gray days, but they happen. We are brave and surpass everything. If you feel like I felt, I just want to tell you that you will get out of this.
