IT'S NORMAL TO BE DIFFERENT :)
My name is Patrícia Moreira. I'm Portuguese, I'm 24 years old and I was born with a neuromuscular disease, namely Centronuclear Myopathy. I have always been able to walk, but over the years the strength of the muscles has been decreasing more and more. I started to use a wheelchair to get around 1 year ago. None of this has prevented me from living a normal life. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in sociology and I find myself working at the moment. My wheelchair gives me all the freedom that I could not have without it. It is my best friend and it takes me everywhere.
The important thing is to feel good about yourself and be confident that you can do everything, although it might be differently. But the real question is "who is not different?" We are all different in one way or another. The word "normal" is a false word, because what is normal? No one can answer that question. It's good that we're all different... Because it's normal to be different!
