No Limits
I'm Matildelis Medina and I am a 25-year-old woman from New Jersey. Throughout my life, I can say that I have always been sure of two things. First, I was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (type 2) and I would always be wheelchair-bound. Most importantly though, I have always known that this disease would never be enough to stop me from pursuing the life I have always dreamed of. It has always been a mission of mine to prove to others that the only barriers and obstacles in your life that seem to be impossible to overcome are those you set in front of yourself. One of the biggest motivations in my life has always been the field of medicine. Medicine has given me the ability to continue defying all odds that I would be able to lead a successful life and that is why I am currently working towards pursuing my career as a physician. I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kean University and continue to improve myself on a daily basis towards becoming the best person I can be to better serve others. I also wish to show the world that being disabled is a big part of my life, but it doesn't define me entirely. I'm hoping to spread the message through my photos and story that others will view you based on how you view yourself. Being disabled doesn't automatically disqualify you from being worthy or beautiful, it only emphasizes it in a different way. Thank you yoocandoanything for giving me a platform to share my story ☺️
