I walked across the stage at my high school graduation
Hi, I am Whitney. Growing up, I had to rely on another person to do basically everything for me. At the age of 18, I had a baclofen pump implanted in my stomach. The doctor's hope was that it would be easier for someone else to care for me. A month after surgery, I walked across the stage at my high school graduation. I continued to go beyond expectations by living on my own (doing all of my daily living skills by myself), earning a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation services, and then going on to get a masters degree in special education. I am now a motivational speaker spreading a message to always live life to the best of your capabilities. Another motto I want to share: self confidence is the best outfit, rock it and own it!
