My Story Has Just Started

Hello World,

I recently sustained a spinal cord injury due to a ski accident I had last December. I remember lying in the hospital in Barcelona on Christmas Eve. The surgeon who saved my life came to my bed, and told me that he was so grateful I survived because at some point he didn't think I would make it. The man who saved my life thanked me for being so strong, and that really made a huge impression on me.

I realized I was stronger than I thought I was. I guess my story in this new situation has just started. I can't tell a success story yet. I was just released from the hospital a few weeks- I'm trying to put my life back together. I believe I am still here for a reason and that I can help others. I want to contribute to the change the world needs because the way the world treats people with disabilities needs improvement. I believe that sharing stories and helping each other will make the world a better place.
