The Foster's Fight to Reverse Rett Syndrome

Meet Charlie & Olivia

Imagine living with the symptoms of Autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, epilepsy, and anxiety, all in one disorder. This is Rett Syndrome, and it affects 1 in 10,000-15,000 girls (and a few boys). Our identical twin daughters, Charlie and Olivia, were diagnosed with Rett on September 15, 2017.

Despite their limitations, even early on in this progressive disorder, Charlie and Livy amaze us every day and bring joy to everyone around them. They have maintained their ability to walk, run, and even climb! They love to dance, read books, and jam to their favorite band, the Imagine Dragons.

Rett Syndrome is believed to be the first curable neurological disorder (it has been reversed it in mice!). With this glimmer of hope, we are dedicated to spreading awareness of Rett and raising the funds required to find a cure for our girls and give them their voices back. In the meantime, we strive every day to give them an amazing childhood filled with fun, adventure, and laughter. Perspective is everything when you are raising a child with a disability, and we are thankful every day for our little warriors.
